Robot Gift Website

If anyone needs a robotic gift idea. This is a wonderful site!

Papercraft Robot

The only thing better than a robot may be a papercraft robot, and computer security software company Symantec clearly totally realises this. Because to better educate the public on various malware bots that can infect their systems, Symantec has released free thematic papercraft robots. And kudos to their marketing department--they aren't covered in logos for Norton Antivirus or something. Here's a picture of their identity theft bot. Hit the link to collect all two

Vintage Robots (It's my birthday soon!)

Check out this beautiful collection of vintage toy robots .

Though made for children, Japanese toy robots can catch the eye of even the most discriminating adults.

Iconic graphic designer Tom Geismar, whose firm Chermayeff & Geismar has created memorable logos for Mobil, PBS and other U.S. institutions, has been collecting the shiny bots for decades.

The Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle will exhibit toys from Geismar's collection in Robots: A Designer's Collection of Miniature Mechanical Marvels through Oct. 26. The vintage robots on display reflect Geismar's trained eye. "I've really restricted myself to ones that appealed to me as interesting, imaginative designs," he says.

Jesus and Mary Chain: Enmore Theatre Sydney

Saw the Jesus and Mary Chain at the Enmore in Sydney last night. Have to admit (and yes - hardcore music fans will be shocked) - but have never really been a fan. Must have missed them while I was swooning over Nirvana back in the day.

So the set started at about 10pm and ended just after 11pm. You couldn't really understand much of what they were singing... and the band didn't move much. Not very engaging.

Apparently this is how they always play. GO figure. So in the scheme of things is must have been an awesome show!
